It depends on whether the MS license is good for more than one install. You will need to check with Microsoft as you may need to activate a new registration for the app as well.

Thank you for your reply, How & where do I check whether the MS Office license is for 1 install only or more than 1 install…,other than actually transferring to my new MacBook Pro

You need to check with Microsoft - it is their product and they make the rules. Apple has nothing to do with that.
