mac big sur verifying every time i open a microsoft office app

why does it verify every time and how can i stop it?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.4

The usual solution is to uninstall the apps and reinstall them.


Go to the Applications folder, put all of the Office apps in the trash and delete them. This does not affect your personal data.


Download and reinstall Office 2019 or 365 from Microsoft's site.

Download the full and latest version installer, which is either of the top two links. Only you know if you need the Teams version or not.


Once reinstalled, the OS will verify each app when launched the first time, but shouldn't after that.
