I think my MAC software was just updated to macOC Catalina Ver 10.15.7 and now my printer (which is hardwired to the PC) has stopped responding. It there any workaround?

Hi,

To begin with, you could perhaps try resetting the printing system and re-adding the printer. Check whether the operating system suggests a suitable driver to use.

Add a printer on Mac - Apple Support

HP appears to recommend HP Easy Start (https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-laserjet-pro-cp1525-color-printer-series/4052975/model/4052979). However, if this does not work, you may want to have a look at the HP Printer Drivers v5.1 for macOS (posted Dec 11, 2020) from Apple instead (the Download button at https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1888?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US). An HP LaserJet CP1520 Series version 19.13 driver mentioned in Printer and scanner drivers for Mac - Apple Support could possibly be worth testing.

One cannot rule out software conflicts, and data may be lost. So, before testing any printer driver, make sure that you have at least three backup copies of important files (photos, etc.).
