I have Apple TV, I set it up and after a while Apple TV icon disappeared from my Samsung Smart TV app list...I reset the device, disconnected reconnected the device, etc...can't get it to show on the TV... what can I do to make it work again?
Icons are not send from the external devices, but the TV software may show an icon from its own icon library based on what it detects. Or it may not show an icon if they change the TV software on that aspect. Lacking an icon, a device should at least show its name in text.
To change the input signal to an external device, on your TV, go to Home﹥Source﹥[select device].
Verify that the HDMI cable is firmly connected on both ends.
Try different HDMI port to test if the previous HDMI port is causing issues.

Thanks. It worked! I placed the HDMI port to the one corresponding with “TV” icon which Apple TV was able to identify with.
Hi Urquhart. I have an external Apple TV 4K (A1842) running tvOS 14.5. TV is Samsung 8 Series (55) (UA55MU8500).
Do you have an external Apple TV box, or do you have a TV with the Apple TV app among the TV’s smart apps? Those would appear in different places on your TV.
