Password on notes

I had locked notes on my phone (on the app notes) and when I got a new iPhone I could no longer open those locked notes with my Face ID and it asked me for a password. I can’t remember the password because the password I usually use for things isn’t opening the locked notes. Resetting the password only works for new notes you put a lock on. Does anyone know how I would be able to get into old locked notes when I don’t know the password?
