Cannot mount or erase external Lacie hard drive

My external hard drive stopped working (as Time Machine backup) and now it will not mount or even let me erase. It only shows up in Disk Utility and I can run first aid when I try to erase the erase button is enabled but when I click on it nothing happens. It won't mount either. Anybody have any suggestions???

External hard drive damaged from setting up new imac I just got a new 2021 iMac with m1 chip and I used my time machine backups from my WD passport external hardrive to set it up. Once the transfer of everything was finished I went to eject my drive and it disappeared. It won’t show up anywhere on the Mac not even disc utility or after a restart. I checked and show external drive is checked in preferences. I tried plugging it into my MacBook Pro and it’s greyed out in disc utility unable to mount and first aid failed. The drive was completely fine before I used it on the new Mac. Any ideas what happened or how to fix it would be greatly appreciated! * both computers I had it plugged into were running on BigSur

External Hard Drives Won't Erase After Using With Time Machine Hi, I have 2 external hard drives that I was using for Time Machine. I have now replaced them and want to erase them for use as normal drives. I have de-selected them for use with Time Machine but Disk Utility won't erase them. It can't run First Aid on them either. It looks like they have become read only. Here's the error message if that helps: Erasing “Seagate Plus Drive 1” (disk11s1) and creating “Seagate Plus Drive 1” Framework unable to communicate with the Disk Management daemon. : (-69812) Operation failed… Any ideas on how I can rescue these drives? Thanks in advance!

To rule out that the drive may have failed, have you tried connecting it to another computer to see if you can access it from there? If you don't have another device, maybe see if a friend or relative can help you out. Alternatively, you can take it to your local Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider for assistance.
