how do I buy music from the iTunes Store with macOS Big Sur

I have tried to buy music using the instructions that Remi_202DC as linked to but it I am not able to see anything when I search in iTunes Store. I have followed the instructions to ensure that iTunes is selected until preferences. I have typed an artist that I want to purchase music from into the search bar, I have clicked on iTunes on the right hand side of the screen and absolutely nothing happens, I have just have a blank screen whatever I search for. I am now stuck and not able to make a purchase, which is really frustrating when I have a fair amount of credit to spend. Hoping someone can help...........
