Anyone know why some podcasts new episodes aren't showing up in Apple Podcasts? At the time of writing this, Pivot with Kara Swisher is not showing Friday's episode as the latest, however other podcasts apps (Overcast and Pocket Casts) are both showing today's episode. Refreshing Apple Podcasts isn't working, nor is unfollowing and re-following the podcast.
Don't these 3rd party apps all just pull from the Apple Podcast directory too? Is this a bug with Apple?
Note circled “See All” in pic of Show settings in left frame below. Sometimes it appears at the bottom instead of the top. Tap it to show all Played and Unplayed episodes.
Click the three dots to the right of a couple of the episodes listed and you’ll probably find they say Mark as Unplayed, which would indicate the app considered them Played. You will then probably find you had Hide Played Episodes on in Show settings, which would explain why the episodes were hidden.
if that isn’t the case, I’m out of ideas.
Definitely a problem with Apple. I was sick of dealing with the same issue, so I finally downloaded a third-party podcast app (Overcast), and the missing episodes were available in the new app. Immediately checked the Apple Podcast app and the episodes were still missing. The poor performance of the native app is extremely disappointing
