Hard drive showed up on desktop

The Macintosh hard drive came up on my desktop after the last update from Apple. I have Big Sur 11.3. How do I get the hard drive off the desktop and just into my finder or system?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.3

go into Finder>Preferences in the General tab and de-select Hard disks.

hard disk icon showed up on desktop after update. Cannot deselect the hard disks option in the finder preferences. This has worked on our other macs, but not so after the update.
