How to bypass a forgotten passcode

How do I bypass a forgotten passcode? I know my Apple ID and password I just do not remember the passcode that is being asked of me to log into my iPad.

Reset the iPad.

The passcode is the basis for the data encryption used on your device and what protects your data against unauthorized access, so forgetting that passcode means you’ve forgotten the data decryption key, and the data is now inaccessible. As it should be, unfortunately for his case.


Resetting the device as described in the linked article clears all, and you can then reload the data from an iCloud backup, or from a local Mac or Windows backup.
