airdrop icon missing ipad

I have just purchased an iPad Air 10.9". I have turned on AirDrop in the settings. How can I open AirDrop? How can I get an icon to appear on the opening screen?

airdrop is missing from my general settings in ios 17.1 Airdrop is no longer coming up when I try to share a photo. I tried going to settings > general > airdrop but that is missing as well. I tried searching airdrop under settings and nothing comes up. When I pull down from the top right corner and hold the network icon the Airdrop receiving button is off. Even if I click on it nothing happens. Any suggestions?

Hi you can see the airdrop icon in the control centre it’s grouped with the WiFi, Bluetooth and Airplane icons.
