Apple Watch incorrect mileage

My Apple Watch is always off on mileage. Hike, run, walk or bike. My 3 friends will have very close mileage and I am always off by .25 mile or more less how can I reset this to make sure it's more accurate?

I have this same issue. Will run with others with apple watches in step for kilometres and at the end theirs have always run further and faster. Not sure whether I need to throw mine in the bin and get a new one or jump ship to Garmin.
