Access Mac backup files on iPad Pro?

My 2016 MacBook is officially dead and I want to switch to an iPad Pro for my new device.

I’ve been regularly backing up the Mac via time machine to an external device.

Is it possible to pull individual files (ie photos documents) from that backup via iPad? I’ve figured out how to access the external drive, but the time machine backup folder seems to be its own file types I can’t use to access individual files.

thank you!

That can't be done without a Mac.

In a Mac, even if you don't use Time Machine to restore it, you can right click the file and open package contents and you''ll find all the files there. They'll be without order, in funny named folders and stuff, but they'll be there.

That option isn't available for Files app on iOS/iPadOS as far as I know, so you can't see the content in the .backupbundle file.
