Deleting desktop folder but not the contents

I accidentally transferred about 1600 documents into a folder on my desktop. How to I delete the folder but save the contents? I just don't want them on my desktop.

Hi PCSWV,

  1. Go to Finder, then open the location you actually want the data in.
  2. Go to Finder > File > New Finder Window > Go > Desktop, and find the location where the items currently are.
  3. Move the Finder windows so you can see both at the same time.
  4. On the folder with all the data currently, press Command + A, for select all.
  5. The drag the contents from the desktop folder to the new location.

Cheers,

Jack
