random files

my macbook recently has been creating random files on my desktop eveytime i open it. there is no set number of files created, seems random. they are all named something like - 05. ef, 0f, e4 . not sure what is going on or what has happened. i havnt downloaded anything from the internet recently or changed settings. abit confused!

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes.


Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.


The free MalwareBytes may take care of it...
