I had boot camp for about a year but got tired of having sound issues the whole time decided to finally reinstall and fix the sound issues as it turns out Bootcamp doesn't want to install now I keep getting the "An error occurred while copying the Windows installation files" while trying to install bootcamp
I have an imac 2017 running macOS sierra verison 10 12 6

For the first part i copied the error msg from the screen ,my problem is resolved thankfully I.somebody helped me update it after 3 hours of waiting it updated and another 2nof getting everything set up .thanks for your help Loner T! Tldr:update your mac

The error message seems to be incorrect. Can you verify the exact macOS version? macOS High Sierra and later do not support W7/W8.1.
On my 2012 MBP, I see

I will check it out I also tried using some other old verion of windows 10 1511 and i just got an inizilation error when booting to windows
W10 1511 may be too old for a 2017 Mac. I recommend testing with W10 18xx ISOs.

tried this still doesnt work as well also it seems that 8.1 windows doesnt work so cant just upgrade
W8.1 should work in Sierra. You may need to edit ei.cfg. See https://www.howtogeek.com/187525/how-to-perform-a-clean-install-of-windows-8.1-with-a-windows-8-key/ for reference.
1511 was to old for it didnt work for me trying a 1809 right now am also spliting it with the windows spliter application as well to if not i'll try a non split version
about the win8.1 i get this error "Boot Camp only supports 64-bit Windows 10 or later installation on this platform. Please use an ISO file for 64-bit Windows 10 or later installation."
If you update to macOS Mojave or later (Big Sur has issues), it addresses the issue of a large ISO. Good to see you have W10 working.
