Problem with HDMI - SDI Adapter (Black Magic Design)
Hey guys.
I recently bought a MacBook Air M1 and was just trying to connect it to a projector via HDMI (actual signal chain: MacBook Air M1 --> Anker 8-in-1 USB-C Hub HDMI Port --> Black Magic Design Mini Converter HDMI to SDI --> Black Magic Design Mini Converter SDI to HDMI --> EIKI LC-XT5 Projector).
The MacBook recognized the projector with no problem, the screen on the MacBook is stable, but the projector puts out a flickering image, with seconds of black screen, tearing etc., basically unusable.
I have used several different Windows Laptops with this signal chain and had no problem whatsoever.
I had this problem with Macs in the past, but never owned one. Now I want to know what the **** is going on.
Is it a problem with HDCP Versions?
Could an HDCP Converter like https://www.amazon.de/LINDY-BIDIREKTIONALER-HDMI-KONVERTER-38166/dp/B078ZCVGMY/ref=sr_1_1?__mk_de_DE=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&dchild=1&keywords=lindy+bidirektional+hdcp+konverter&qid=1614619116&sr=8-1 solve this problem?
Does this problem exist with original Apple Adapters or Adapters recommended by Apple as well?
Or maybe it's just a M1 issue and will be solved with future updates.
As I said above, it is widely "known" that there are problems with MacBooks outputting video over a long distance. So far I don't know why and how to solve this issue.
Thank you guys beforehand!
