Ask to Buy

I setup family sharing, confirmed ‘ask to buy’ is turned on, but my child can still download apps. 2 examples are Instagram and Snapchat. Please help.

Ask to buy wont turn off I recently set up family sharing for myself and my kids. I turned on the ask to buy function with the assumption it would only ask to buy if the app costs money, not everytime they try to get a free app. I then turned it off again completely, but the kids still have to ask for permission now. It is most definitely turned off under family sharing, I even tried to turn it back on and off again, we have restarted all devices, and still even though its off, any app download now needs to be approved by my device. Any idea now to get around this?

Ask to buy option not in settings I’m the organiser of family sharing for my 3 kids. I have always had ask to buy enabled. My 10 year old son just came to show me he can now download apps without my permission. I went back into settings to turn ask to buy back on and the option has disappeared from family settings. I’ve still got share purchases turned on, all my kids names are still there and I am still the organiser - there is just no option at all for ask to buy, it just doesn’t exist. Help!

You may --> Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod ...
