Ios upgrade

I have Macbook Pro late 2013. I am running Sierra version 10.12.6. How can I update to latest version of Sierra or migrate to Catalina.

Your computer will theoretically run up to macOS 11 Big Sur. (hardware requirements here) However, there are far too many reports of serous failures after attempting to install Big Sur on 2013 MacBook Pros for me to send you there just yet.


There is a support article about 13-inch 2013 and 2014 MacBook Pros but does not cover the issues with trashed logic boards.


If you can’t install macOS Big Sur on certain 13-inch MacBook Pro computers from 2013 and 2014 - Apple Support


It was just archived but I've seen no mention of whether the issue was resolved..


If you have older important apps like Office 2011 or older, or an old version of Adobe CS, they will not run on Catalina. If that is the case, simple go to High Sierra or Mojave.
