Retrieve photos from iPod classic

I have an (old) IPod classic that contains a backup of about 7,000 photos of my children as they grew up. It’s the only copy of these photos that I backed up from a computer that died years ago. I have tried various apps and computer repair shops without success in retrieving the photos. Is there any support available from Apple that can help me get these photos off the iPod. Thanks Tim

If you opted to include full resolution images there should be some folders in the root of the drive you can copy off when the device is in disk mode, but I would suspect you've probably checked for that already. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - Apple Community. Some of the recovery tools can copy off the thumbnails from the device. Had a recent report back in another thread that TouchCopy still works for this task.
