I tried to upgrade a 2007 IMac to a newer OS and got this message after trying to reboot:

OS x could not be installed on your computerNo packages were eligible for install. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.

Quit the installer to restart your computer and try again.

Please advise.

Thank you for replying to my question.
Fortunately, I discovered a youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyqBz2p8KB0) that helped me reboot my mac. Interesting though, it did upgrade from Yosemite 10.10 to El Captain 10.11.6

A 2007 iMac can only run El Capitan (10.11) and older.

What version were you trying to install and which version is currently installed?
