select english
can shut voce off with 3 clicks to menu
but then nothing else happens

If it is a new unit, then it will have the Siri Remote.

What may not be obvious to new users, is that the touch surface can also be clicked, by pressing the center of the touch surface a little bit harder. This is used throughout to confirm a highlighted selection.
