My level is not displayed consistenty

So on my profile page I see a message Welcome to specialty level 2!, but then at the same time it says level 1 (17 points) there. What's with that?

Yeah, that does lead to some confusion. Perhaps the articles below will shed some light.

Looks like its rather two different things. There is a profile level setting and then separately a specialty level (in this case Apple Watch). So I'm at level 2 for specialty now but need to grab a lot more points to bump my main profile up there too. Seems to be saying that 150 points are needed for that. So its just a case of a bit of overloaded terminology here. Sorry I got confused there as a casual visitor.

The specialty level really does not do anything significant except display that specialty next to your points level and name. It has no bearing on anything and, in my case, wrong and confusing. Mine shows an iPad which is a subject I don’t know very much about - how did I get it? No idea except I ask questions because I don’t know how to do something, so it is not my specialty.
