External display not detected

Last night I made the mistake of update my OS to Big Sur 11.2. This morning I realized that my external displays were no longer being detected. I usually have everything set up via a hub, and my Macbook is connected from USB/VGA into the hub. In the past I've had some small issues with the displays not showing up, but I could always fix it by either unplugging the USB from my laptop or restarting my computer.

This time, no such luck. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get it to find the displays. I ended up downgrading my OS back to Catalina, because everything was working fine with it. But once I was back, it still wouldn't detect my display.

What's driving me crazy is that when I go into About This Mac > System Report > USB, it shows the hub and everything connected to it EXCEPT my 2 external monitors! It has no problem picking up my keyboard, printer, and webcam. So at this point I'm sure that my cables are fine, my computer just decided to stop seeing my monitors.

I tried connecting another laptop (a PC) the same way and it immediately picked up the displays. I'm so incredibly frustrated!

You don’t say which hub this is, what is your mac model. It looks like you may have one that requires “displaylink” software. You may have to update that.
