I’m told to delete my music and/or phone apps on my watch to create at 2.5 gb space to facilitate software update. However, the Apple Watch does not allow you to. I’m at 2.3 gb but I can’t update. What am I supposed to do? Series 4 watch.

For songs, see the "Remove music from Apple Watch" section in:

Also, try unpairing and pairing your watch again and restoring from the backup just created in the unpairing process. This deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.

My watch is actually a series 3. I’ve never had any photos or music on it. The only apps on it are what came with it. So this seems ridiculous every time there’s an update that I’m told to delete apps that the watch won’t let me delete anyway. And I’m not sure it is worth my time unpairing and pairing over and over again.
