You could do a FORCE RESTART in order to try to make it work, but if it does not want to work, then you might need to do a restore.

If it has a power switch, then the restart is even easier to do. Just slide it off and turn it back on.

If it DOES NOT, see Apple Support for extra help. (because i don't know!)

To enter Disk Mode to restore firmware, do as following:

1G/2G/3G: Hold FAST-FORWARD and REWIND as it restarts.

4G/Photo/Mini/Nano/5G: Press Center and Play/Pause as it restarts.

After that, use Apple's tool to restore firmware.
