Recently I have tried to open the files I have in my pages app and also items in my Files app and I’m getting a message pop up that says I need to authenticate before it will let me open the files and I have no idea how to do this!

Either you have logged out from iCloud Drive on your device or yet to Set up iCloud Drive on your iPhone.
