thanks. I was able to find my way to the High Sierra download in the Apps but it took some looking around on Google to find it. Once I found the correct version to download, I was able to do it with almost no problems.
The link to the direct download was in Neils reply to you, you should have just clicked on the blue High Sierra text.
no need to spend time scrabbling about in Google.
