Big Sur Mail - deleted files not in Mac Bin

Big Sur Mail - Before my recent upgrade I deleted messages using the Bin icon in the Toolbar and that is where I could find them if I wanted to.

Now using the Bin icon in the Toolbar, deleted files do not appear in that Bin, but appear in separate email bins - I have 3 email addresses.

If I use the 'On My Mac-Bin' on the side panel it will work, but for me the the Toolbar Bin is better for working. I have checked preferences etc. - am I missing something
