Downloaded but uninstalled OS?

I downloaded Big Sur, but there's not enough HD space available. So, for now I want to keep Mojave until I have time to remove some apps/files. Should I delete the Big Sur download to free up HD space? If so, how?

Delete big sur pkg I downloaded big sur but was unable to install because I don't have the space. However, the useless installer package is now taking up all my space. Mac won't let me delete it. I've tried right clicking and there's no delete option and you can't drag to the trash. Any ideas for how to get rid of it since I'll have to stick with Catalina? Why did they make macbooks with so little space several years ago?!

Previous installers downloaded to Applications folder.

A second item put into Launchpad goes away after

the one in Applications is sent to Trash.

Or that's how this worked in older macOS..
