I have an iMAC 2013... on OS yosemite... I can't seem to download an upgrades beyond 10.10.5... which means no upgraded office as well as other software? So the computer which works just fine is now useless?

Thanks Niel. So it looks like I can't even connect to the app store?! I failed to keep OS updated... am on Yosemite 10.10.5 and seemingly trapped... Assume the only option is to trash the perfectly good desktop?
When clicking on any links that take you to the App Store you need to be using your Safari browser,
Firefox and Chrome will not work.
Did that ;-)
And did you get through???
Restart your mac, open Safari and try again.
