My new MacBook Pro M1 battery not charging when plugged into the mains using the supplied charger and cable. Did work on the 1st charge last week - but not working now! Help much appreciated
I see now M1 SoC MBP— the SMC/NVRAM do not apply to this Mac, Intel Macs only !

I will add— the new normal since macOS Catalina 10.15.5 introduces battery health management, a feature designed to improve the lifespan of your Mac notebook's battery.
The Battery Health button appears in >System Preferences>Energy Saver/“Battery” in the newer macOS —this feature is limited to Mac laptops with Thunderbolt 3 ports. That equates to all MacBook Pro models released since late 2016 and the Retina-capable MacBook Air models released since 2018.
With the release of macOS 11.0.1 Big Sur see >System Preferences>Battery

Depending on your usage—on the mains as much as possible, I have seen my battery hang at 82%, 72%, right now it is 94%. This is all normal.
