I understand that your iPhone is locked and has an Activation Lock on it. If you are faced with an Activation Lock then you will be prompted to enter the password to an Apple ID. Is that what you are facing with? If YES and you do not have the correct password then you cannot remove that Activation Lock. You will need those credentials otherwise that iPhone will be useless to you.
