big sur update

My update app has been like this for almost 6 hours... any suggestions on how to FINALLY apply this update??

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.13

Since it has taken a significant amount of time, try restarting the Mac from the Apple () menu to get a fresh start on the update.


If you're still having issues, try starting the Mac in safe mode which can help diagnose these kinds of issues: Start up your Mac in safe mode
