Appletv does not find iTunes library

Trying to help a friend to whom i suggested buying an appletv and can absolutely not connect to the iTunes library

iMac El Capitan, Apple TV 4k. Tried everything. Appleid seems to be OK and working on imac+itunes. Apple id put in correctly at Appletv (same appleid for imac and appletv). Apple tv connects ok with ethernet or wifi . Tried Restart and Reset. Homesharing is on. Appletv connected directly on the router (not a switch). I am short of ideas... Can someone help?

iTunes need to be running on the computer. The home shared library should be visible in the Computers app on the Apple TV. It should also be possible to AirPlay content from the computer instead of browsing from the Apple TV. Try rebooting the router if you've not already done so.
