I have question for my Macbook 13 Pro Battery

Hi,

I have one question for my Macbook Pro 13 - 2020

When i bought the macbook everything was fine, but after activating the new battery function (Manage battery longevity), the battery life started to decrease dramatically. Is this normal, I only have 32 cycles.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.0

At first sight your numbers suggest a problem, but it is only a problem when it is accepted by Apple. The Apple support docs https://support.apple.com/HT201585 and https://support.apple.com/HT204054 suggest you should be expecting around 1000 charge cycles before it gets down to 80% and you are still closer to 90% - but it is dropping fast and it won’t be long before you hit 80%.

I suggest you use the link near top right of most browser windows here to Contact Apple Support (https://getsupport.apple.com/) but also consider the approaching holiday and whether you might be better waiting until after New Year. With a 2020 device you are still comfortably within warranty even if you wait a month or two.

The decline isn’t linear. Generally drops to ~90% then stays there for a while.

My first 2019 16” MBP (bought May 2020) has 15 cycles and 94% health (started at 99%). My second 2019 16” (bought less than a month ago) has 3 cycles and 98% health). My 2017 15” MBP has 350 cycles and 91% health. My 2010 17” MBP has 774 cycles and 85% health.

Apple considers 80% and above to be ‘healthy’.
