Legit or scam?

I got a call from a 1800 number saying there was suspicious activity on my iCloud account and to not access at sensitive or financial information and to press 1 to talk to apple support. I just hung up. Was this call legitimate or a scam?

Security breach iCloud? I received an automated phone call from a 212 (NY) area code claiming it was apple saying that my iCloud security has been breached. Could this have been a legit phone call from apple. Usually it's an 800 number? Thanks for any info. Annina

Scam. Apple does not make any such calls. They would only call you if you had first called them and requested a call back.
