It sounds like you want to delete photos from your Mac.

Select them in the thumbnail view, and hit the delete key, or menu image>delete.
They will then go into recently deleted for 30 days before being permanently deleted. If you want them gone immediately you can manually delete them from recently deleted - but there is no going back from this.
