Why is my battery suddenly charging only to 85%

I have an iPhone 7, iOS 14. Since yesterday, the battery charges only to 85% full, then stops charging. I've tried it on several different wires that I know are okay. The phone is 3 years old, but I've tried to preserve battery health. Any suggestions about what to do? Thanks!
