Time machine doesn't work in Big Sur

Since upgrading to Big Sur, I can no longer accomplish a backup using time machine?

Time Machine works just fine with Big Sur, you may have a failing External Hard Disk or some other issue. Please open Disk Utility and run First Aid on your Time Machine External Hard Disk several times back to back and look for errors. Also, inspect your cables too.
