so, my brother dropped his phone by accodent when he was running and now it wont turn on. any suggestions that will help to turn it back on? we tried the hold the power and the volume button but nothing happened.

It sounds like the iPhone suffered catastrophic damage.

Visit an Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Center. Let them assess the iPhone and advise you how to proceed.
