I just upgraded to the iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020), and would like to use my iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2012) as a second monitor. It worked great on my last 5K iMac, but it won't connect to my new one. I have them connected via an Apple Thunderbolt 2 cable, using an Apple Thunderbolt 3 adapter, but when I press "Command-F2," it doesn't work. Any ideas?

Yea' because Mac's after 2019 and the latest macOS no longer support TDM.
You can use a third party application to replicate this. Either Luna Display (haven't tried yet) or DuetDisplay - Tried and I have it working on a 2012 iMac to 2020 iMac setup.

Den, the last time that article was updating was in April 2020. The 2020 iMacs didn't exist then. And unfortunately the article says it isn't updated anymore by apple.
