Purple Horizontal Lines Across Screen

Occasionally when I watch YouTube videos in full screen my MacBook freezes up and purple horizontal lines appear. Is this normal for 2015 12inch MacBooks? I have found the only way for the lines to go away is to force shut down my Mac. I was just wondering if anybody knew a way to fix this problem or if it has happened to others?

MacBook, macOS 11.0
