How do I append Pages documents?

A few years ago I used Append to join two Pages documents but now (after several updates to Pages (I have version 10.3.5) I can't find how to do it. Is it still possible? I do remember that the procedure involved saving the thumbnails of the document to be appended. The alternative of selecting all pages, copying and pasting is a hassle because images don't get copied.
