Overheating
After updating to Big Sur, my MacBook Air started to overheat with normal usage. What could be causing it to overheat?

Have you rebooted a couple times(?)
Try resetting the SMC https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295
Keep your Mac notebook within acceptable operating temperatures
