Big Sur installation error

I keep getting an error message when trying to install Big Sur: An error occurred while installing the selected updates. What can I do to fix this error?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.12

Apple's servers are overloaded. https://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/

You'll unfortunately have to keep trying.

I'm going through the same frustration.

I am having an installation issue as well. I try to update and it just gives me the progress screen for DAYS! I tried rebooting in Recovery Mode which didn't work so I rebooted in Internet Recovery Mode; only to get the PKDownload Error 8 message.

I NEED MY COMPUTER WORKING! Help!
