Time Machine backup Issue

I backup my late 2011 Macbook Pro using Time machine to a external hard drive. My old drive had 156.58 of used space, but I end up with 147.86 Gb on the external. What could the problem be?

By default Time Machine backs up everything on the source volume. Nothing will be omitted.

You can exclude items by following these instructions: Exclude files from a Time Machine backup on Mac - Apple Support.

I had 9.72 GB of space on my Internal drive more then I backup on the external drive. I'm wondering did I get a complete backup.
