Ipad air 4 and sidecar
Is there a reason why the iPad air 4 does not work with sidecar? I bought the iPad thinking it would be able to work as previous generations were compatible, so I am very disappointed.

From this support document, Use your iPad as a second display for your Mac with Sidecar - Apple Support
Sidecar system requirements
Sidecar requires a compatible Mac using macOS Catalina and a compatible iPad using iPadOS 13:
Mac using macOS Catalina
iPad using iPadOS 13
The tech specs for the iPad Air (4th Gen) do not indicate that it supports Sidecar.

Ipad air 4 DOES support Sidecar. I figured out that even though I was signed into my apple account on the ipad I had to "finish setting up my ipad" with the notification and once I signed in again (already signed in) into my icloud account it was functioning properly. Make sure that bluetooth, handoff, and Wifi are on and Mac is not sharing its internet connection.
Did you click on your iPad in the finder to establish that it is a trusted device? I was having the same problem, but didn't realize that I had to do this. Once I did it worked like butter.
I have an iPad air 4th generation, and it does work with sidecar. I use it with my Macbook Pro 16" and it all works well.
Hi, you were able to connect your macbook pro with the new ipad air 4th generation that just came out? I seem to have the same problem of not being able to connect
@nickmikami yes, I was able to connect my new ipad air 4th generation (2020) to my Macbook Pro 16".
