how much would it cost in £ to fix screen macbook air 2020, theres vertical lines but as far as i know nothing has happened to cause this

MacBook Air 2020? It may still be under warranty. If so the repair will be free assuming the cause of the problem was not caused by you. Best thing is arrange an appointment at your nearest Apple Store or Apple Authorised Repair Centre whether in warranty or not. They will be best placed to advise you of costs, if any.
