I have an iPad 2 that I would like to reset to factory settings but I do not have old password for old Apple ID

Is "old Apple ID" your Apple ID?

Yes. If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support
No. The iPad is Activation Locked. The original owner must unlock the iPad or it will remain useless forever.
